RDL were apparoached by ABB NZ to design a  LV substation package for Vectors' Overhead to Underground conversion programme.

The package needed to be flexible enough to handle a variety of distribution requirements in varied areas.

The completed product is available with either 8 way busbar (as shown) or 10 way busbar version.

Built around a robust HDG steel angle frame which bolts directly to the transformer pad the distribution rack is fitted with an incoming isolator either 630A or 1000A and a 630A rated external generator isolator unit. The required number of distribution ways are fitted and those not required are blanked off.

Current transformers and an instrument panel are fitted on the left hand side. Street light ripple control is also fittted to this panel if required.

When complete the panel is fully "touch-safe"
